Yeah, when you persecute anyone who disagrees with how you run the country regardless of skill or knowledge and attack the once friendly country next door that has produced far more rocket scientists than, I think, any other country by capita then you can kiss your moon base dreams goodbye.

It can still happen. 

1. Russia loses the war.

2. Ukraine condems Putin to leave this world.

3. Putin is launched to the moon with much jubilation.

4. Putin gets to have a rock in a space all of his own.

5. Everyone is happy ever after.
