    >animal garda crime unit

They’d need some very customised uniforms to cope with tails, ears through hats, etc.

    Yes please.

Also shout out to my lovely horse rescue. They’re genuine fucking heroes. Donate if you can.

(It’s not just horses they rescue by the way it’s all animals)

Doubt we will ever see it but would be for it. You have to be some twisted cunt to hurt animals and it happens a lot in this country.

I disagree. We need a national animal welfare office that incorporates dog wardens from all the different councils and runs animal rescues around the country with the help of animal charities. They can send Gardaí to this office on secondment to help in executing warrants and seizures but the expertise in this matter is mostly in non-Garda organisations.

I didn’t realise animals were committing crimes, we need to give to ensure that they some ruff justice.

  6. Would want to be tooled up like a black ops unit to deal with the inevitable.

  7. We kill pigs in gas chambers. We have government sponsored animal abuse and gambling in horse and dog racing. This is wishful thinking, most people couldn’t give less of a shit about animals unfortunately.

  8. We’d need new laws first, the gardaí and any other group can’t do shit as long as animals are considered property and other laws enable their mistreatment.

We need a ground up restructuring of how we treat animals in this country and stop seeing them as property, problem or product

Yep ….just another part of life where the institutions of State are utterly useless
Puppy Farm Capital of Europe ….yet nothing done

This is always going to be a very very tough sell. There are simply going to be statistical outcomes and inevitabilities when it comes to animal cruelty in Ireland. Going after the studs/communities  for cruelty to horses is going to generate mountains of GSOC claims of discrimination etc. No one wants the mess.
