That seems in entirely in line with the policy of the Serbian government.

Serbia seems like a great country for young people! I wonder why they are protesting.

*takes mental note to never be young in Serbia.

Didn’t the government commit to have Serbia join the EU by *checks notes, 2026 – that would be this year…?

Not sure the Minister’s rhetorics are really supporting this aim – it that is actually still wanted(?)

Well he isn’t wrong, the state has a monopoly on violence.

This is not an isolated wild statement. This is actually second statement of that nature in the last month. First one was made by one of the Vucic MPs, Milenko Jovanov. He said that in Iran gov. killed 30 000 people for attempting “colored revolution” (thats what Vucic calls protests in Serbia) and it is just by the grace of Vucic that no protestor died. But if he (Jovanov) or anyone else was in charge, they would act differently.

Maybe they *are* aware. They’d just prefer a government under which the risk is close to zero.

Because that should NOT be allowed by law. Come on, Serbia, join us in the 21st century.

Coming to an American city near you!

My sincere condolences to my Serbian friends.

Serbia became private country that is owned with just one man. Other ones like ministers are mainly caricatures with no education at all, so that’s why they are talking nonsense like this one

The murderers of Yugoslavia are still in power to this date.

Oh look, more reasons why peaceful protests don’t work.
