    If it is based on the EU zero-knowledge-proof method, then I support this. If it is another “send your id off to a third party where they’ll store it” scenario, then it’s a tragedy.

    The digital wallet is to satisfy an EU obligation to make access to public services easier. 1 member of our government has said it MAY also be used for age verification for social media.

    The article in the OP makes it sound like they set out to make a social media age verification app, which simply isn’t the case.

    This is just another form of government overreach. It has nothing to do with protecting children, it’s about control.

    The only reason to add age verification to sites is for advertisers to know who to target. They will gladly show toys on porn sites if they get proof kids visit those.
