Stamp shows that’s an official issued plate, placed on the back of the car. Duplicates are put in front and don’t have that stamp.

It’s the stamp from the DIV to see that you aren’t running fake plates.

I don’t know what the law says about covering it but a cop could pull you over for suspecting you’re using fakes.

Seal of the DIV. Your number plate on the back is the “official” one, which has this symbol.

It is by law illegal to modify the plate, even to hole it in because it remains the property of the government and not yours.

    Don’t do that.

Thats a marker to show it is an official license plate issued by the DIV, basicly car registry.
Every car has it, only the plate on the back of the car needs it.

Custom made plates have this icon near the left side of the plate.

    EDIT: Typo

  7. That’s the DIV stamp. It means it’s the official license plate (which should be the rear one). The copy on the front will not have this stamp.

That is the official sign of the DIV (dienst inschrijving voertuigen) which means that this plate is valid and official. Don’t cover it.

One fun thing to do when walking over big parking lots is checking for (Belgian) cars who don’t have this on their back license plate. You do see more than you’d expect.

That’s the DIV logo which means it’s the official plate you get from the postal service. If it’s not visible, you’ll probably get in trouble way more often than you’d want. Don’t do it.
