There are entire discord servers run by Turkish nationalists to make propaganda. Don’t take anyone who recognises “Northern Cyprus” seriously.
I don’t have that much experience from how an LGBT person would be in the north, but in the south I’ve heard some horror stories. And even the milder aspects are not positive. So I see where they come from, as religion is very prevalent/strong amongst GC.
I live in northern cyprus, am a turkish Cypriot, deff more homophobic but in terms of religion most cypriots almost all of them arent actually muslim so its not a religious country
North is more homofobic and less religious one but i think both parts are fine
