Parts of the UK could enjoy highs of 21C or 22C on Tuesday, with temperatures rising again on Wednesday, climbing as high as 24C in south-east England, before the weather cools off towards the end of the week.
The Met Office forecast for North and West Yorkshire sees temperatures reaching 18 degrees on Tuesday before rising again to 21 degrees on Wednesday, before dropping to around 12 and 13 degrees for the rest of the week.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “As Storm Dave has now moved away, and this high pressure is building behind it, we’re now dragging up warmer air from the continent.
“It’s one of the seasons where it can change really quickly, day on day.”
Name a more iconic duo than sensational weather headlines and UK news outlets.
That’s not surprising considering we haven’t really had warm weather this year. If it was ‘hottest day of last year’s record set to be beaten three times this week’ then that’d be newsworthy.

Well surely that’s gonna happen every week or so now that we’re heading into summer?? What kind of metric is that?? The record to be broken is last year’s hottest day, anything less than that is not newsworthy
24c was peak summer 25 years ago when I was at school (in Hampshire, so not even up north).
Climate change isn’t real and all that.
There are so many commenters here who seem scared of knowledge. We know more about the weather and climate shock. Things surprisingly are more complex now. Don’t be afraid, learn.
