Oh this is heartbreaking 😭 why the fuck did the school not put a stop to the bullying? I really hope this makes the bully’s think twice before bullying someone again. However, I doubt it. That poor boy.

    > According to the Daily Mail, the hearing heard he was also having a hard time at home with his stepfather Kyle Townson, who ‘slapped’ him on the day he died.

There are no words. How could you slap a 13 year-old boy who has already been through so much? Hope this guy gets arrested.

  3. Not familiar with this site, but each time I click the link it shows the article and then shoots me to “Sorry, this content isn’t available right now.” after a second. Is anyone able to get the text the autimod hasn’t archived it yet.

Going off the headline; failing to protect young LGBT+ people in this country is becoming a serious problem, it really feels like we have backslid heavily over the last decade.

Patents, you are responsible for your children. You can move schools, homeschool, go online. There are a hundred options other than letting your child go through this.

Back in the nineties, I found that British secondary schools didn’t care about bullying so long as you did well in your exams. What did they care if you left with crippling trauma that will affect you for decades so long as you got decent GCSE grades that looked good in their evaluations?

I’ll be honest, I was kinda under the impression that schools were supposed to be better nowadays than back in my day. FFS.

The headline completely downplays the abuse he was getting at home. Slapped by his step dad on the head the day he died?

  7. F this school system and the parents of the bullies. Once more, nothing going to happen. No responsibility or accountability just soft pitty words.

This kind of s*** is the result of awful parenting and school system and a societal posture of “not my problem” that leave this and so many other cases ignored.

How is this shit still happening, humans claim to be some superior species over the other animals yet freak the fuck out if they have slightly different sexual desires or skin colour. Like fuck off. We need extinction

First time I’ve cried in a while over an article. His step father sounds like a piece of work. RIP.

    So sad.

I was bullied at that age for being gay before I knew what it meant. It’s really awful, I was lucky that my high school was mostly female and then university was really open. But man, does it subconsciously stay with you for all your life. I was just thinking yesterday how good my life is compared to when I was 13.

Anyway, RIP to this poor boy. My heart breaks for him.

Horiffic this young lad was let down by everyone who should have stood up for him

Edit: I also think some people on this post need to stfu and stop saying it’s only the parents fault and to not blame the school, there were problems all around, his parents have admitted they had shortcomings but this doesn’t detract from those vile boys that bullied him at school and the teachers who chose to be oblivious to the bullying

I was bullied so badly at school for being an “effeminate boy”. I couldn’t help the way I spoke or moved, yet not one single adult who saw the bullying happening ever stepped in to stop.

It left me with a lot of mental health issues as an adult, now I’m in my 30s  back at college trying to rebuild my life, and I see the same bullying going on as well as a lot of racial microaggressions and once again no one bats an eyelid or does anything about. The headteacher needs to be held responsible.

My heart absolutely fucking breaks reading this.

If only, IF ONLY HE KNEW IT GETS BETTER.

I was so very nearly him, all those years ago.

    Gods this made me sad.

Ah, yes, the teachers were “unaware”.

Teachers are often “unaware” of bulling in schools where this sort of behaviour happens.

I bet of they looked into the school they would find other types of bullying there “unaware” of too.

Another brainwashed child. Having sick agendas drilled in to him. Poor kid. Why can’t kids left to be kids ?

Child abuse in the home. The bullying was secondary.

    >On the day of Leyton’s death, he had been slapped on the back of the head by his stepfather for letting his half-brother hurt himself on a trampoline.

“Both Kerry and I asked him to look after [the disabled brother] quite a lot. There would be arguments because some of the other kids would not help out as much. Kerry would ask Leyton because the other kids argue back,”

Townson said: “I do not feel like I treated him differently from the others. He was the only child living with us who was not biologically mine, but I brought him up as mine.”

    Liar.

There’s too much emphasis on keeping bullies in school now and not on keeping other children safe.
If your child puts others kids in danger or is found to be repeatedly cruel, they shouldn’t be there.
I’ve seen firsthand schools tip-toeing around abusive kids and it’s so detrimental to everyone involved. If the parents can’t be bothered to parent their child and the school are too afraid to punish the child, then they are effectively bringing themselves up.

Heartbreaking but the article headline is misleading, there were many factors. He suffered abuse and stress at home as well. Slapped by his step dad and expected to be a carer for his 7 year old brother.

I was beaten/SAd by my step dad, while my “mother” (if you can call her that) did nothing.
It’s awful that this could still happen.

That poor kid. ❤️ Breaks my heart 🙁

Jeg hører sjældent disse historier fra andre steder end UK.

  24. DecompressionIllness on

The problem with bullying in schools is that nobody wants to do anything about it because they care more for their stats than they do the well-being of students. I was bullied all the way through school, relentlessly, and into college as well. I’d complain to teachers and tutors and they’d “deal” with the bullies, which resulted in them leaving me alone for two days but then they’d start bullying me again. They just absolutely refused to do anything more, so the kids who are being absolute little shits to other innocent kids are facing no consequences whatsoever.

British schools need to grow spines.

Sounds like the step dad was an abusive twat

Confiscating his tv for borrowing a bike to go the shop wtf

  26. longsightdon on

Schools don’t get involved with bullying now, social media runs absolutely rampant and the mean kids are even meaner now

  27. Eleonora_Lana on

How far do you have to push a human let alone a CHILD for them to want to take their own life and go through with it. What a cruel world we live in. 💔
