I passed by Athlone this evening and the Gardaà directed traffic past one of the blockades. Literally the next junction had a **second** blockade across the entire carriageway and were blocking exits/ entrances. The Gardaà had to shift up to them and start the whole process again.

All the comments regarding ambulances and emergency services, this is exactly what the government want us to say. Protests are needed, we have to be able to stand up against social injustices and I for one am grateful to those who do it on my behalf. This government are raking in a fortune since the fighting began, and don’t start with the whole “the oil companies are at fault” bs… thats business. The government’s inability to see the fears of a nation is unforgivable. If emergency services are affected, blam the government, not the protesters.
