This is so obvious at this point that resistance to wind and solar seems ideologically. even emotionally driven (among those without a financial interest). It is now undeniable that the more renewable we build, the less vulnerable we are to fossil fuel price shocks and this one will not be the last. We don’t even need the climate change argument, energy security is enough of a reason to support this.
To remain devoted to fossil fuel-centric parties and policies is bordering on cult like behaviour in the current geopolitical climate (pun intended)

Now imagine if we had the nuclear energy that the Tories tried to build and the lib Dems blocked with the help of labour.

I thought energy prices were set by gas anyway, so as long as we carry on with this system it doesn’t matter how cheap wind/solar energy is, because we still get charged the gas price

Everyone loves a good renewables project, especially if it’s not next door and it’s out of sight
I do have a little challenge over covering fields with solar panels as the first port of call. Obviously wate ground that can’t be used for anything else is one thing, but the UK countryside is also very nice
Much better to think about covering every reasonable rooftop first!
