They are waiting too long to clear this bunch. Should have already been cleared earlier today.

What exactly is a water canon going to do against heavy machinery?

They should try to lure the leaders out with some breakfast rolls and blast them with the water tank.

  6. Arrest their leaders, take their trucks and fine the absolute crap out of them.

The democratically elected leaders had, and will continue to have, meetings with the government all weekend.

    These are rogue del-boys.

Was literally torrential rain and a storm today which didn’t stop them. A water cannon in Ireland is funny.

This is taking way too long for the gardai to do anything it’s embarrassing.

Anyone else thinks that this is gonna backfire badly?

  9. Heh time for the water works. They all talk until the guards decide to powerhose the bastards. The minute they decided they’d threaten the whole country if they didnt get their way was when they lost legitimacy. Peaceful Protestors my ass thats getting awfully close to domestic terrorism.

  10. The simple matter is Fuel prices in Ireland are high not just because of the global oil markets current volatile situation but because a huge share of the cost comes from taxes like excise duty, VAT, and carbon tax. Regardless if Ireland has offered some stupidly small relief in the form of cents, countries such as Spain have cut fuel-related taxes by roughly 10–20% in March I believe during the energy crisis to ease the burden on households and businesses. Somehow a lot of people don’t realise that when fuel costs rise, everything else follows such as food, transport, services etc. making everyday life more expensive and putting pressure on jobs and small businesses. Regardless if the Irish government currently has environmental and fiscal considerations to take into account, elected leaders by these farmers and contractors and haulers are expected to strike a fair balance. When they fail to provide adequate support as some are arguing (such is the case with the current Irish government) it causes even more problems about policy priorities and economic fairness. We are a very wealthy country. Back down to the protestors and the government should do their damn job instead of pitting people against each other and pointing fingers. Also the amount of absolute shite RTE has been putting out and the convenient stories about elected leaders and representatives of these protests not paying tax etc. much more things to worry about I’m sorry.

EDIT: Keep the downvotes coming with no response argument. If anyone respects the governments potential future actions against those rightfully protesting and then the government going to the extent to lie about cancer patients missing their appointments when they were the same tools responsible for taking patients off the systems and “eliminating” USC i don’t know what to tell you.
