Yes, I can understand that from Estonia’s point of view. Let countries that do not share a land border with Russia do that.

Why not turn Danish straits into Hormuz?

Totally understandable, but possible with help. The UK allowed a Russian warship to accompany a shadow fleet ship to pass through the English Channel.

Soon it will be ‘Estonia says defending against Russia is too risky’ or ‘NATO says defending Estonia against Russia is too risky’ /s

Honestly that makes sense for Estonia, they’re tiny and share a land border with Russia. Maybe better if Denmark or Sweden quietly take the lead on inspections in the Baltic.

We are getting closer and closer to the point, where Trump publicly declares, that he won’t join a defence against russia. And that starts to show.
Very dangerous situation, even with a chance of 30%, that the USA is joinig the defence, it is still very deterrent for Putin.
As soon as we move towards 0%, Putin will consider whether to take advantage of this probably unique opportunity.

I mean yeah let countries that are not at a direct immediate risk of getting invaded deal with that

We’ve stopped a few before, only to let them go after a short while, because apparently there’s nothing you can actually do.
Also, if those tankers have reached Estonian waters, then it means that they’ve passed every other country on the way without any issues.

Germany, Denmark and Sweden should probably be the ones doing it. No land border with Russia and situated at the exit to the baltic sea.

So… russia has already proved that NATO doesn’t really work?

Understandable – let’s just impose more restrictions on Russian speakers in Estonia then /s
