Pedro Sanchez is still the best leader in Europe. The only one that actually did enough process to the energy transition to green energy and now because of that spanish pay a lot less for their energy.

Also he is the only one that refused to waste money in this Nato with trump in power and that is clear on the fact that both israel and us are enemies right now, enemies like putin is.

I don’t know if the corruption allegations are true, and I imagine justice will simply take its course, and those who have to pay will pay (I’m not against making people that I like pay for their mistakes).

Not being Spanish to be fair, I’m less interested in this matter.

However, I think the center-left around the world should take a cue from the energy transition policies and ally themselves against trump. And for that Sanchez is an example to follow for sure.

They are all corrupt, but we know why this one is specifically targeted and not the rest

So this sub would tear apart anyone else, but because they have a hard on for Spain it’s ok.

Surprise, he’s challenging the US and Europe to make actual change to benefit the people. The central banks and military demons can’t have that.

lol Spain’s PM has been facing corruption allegations long before the Iran war but I guess he figured out which way to grift to get people to look past all that

“How could le wholesome 100 chungus president be corrupt?” said the Redditors, right on que.
Just because you like the guy, does not mean he is above the rule of law.

These are fabricated charges, Spain is very much a Francoist state still, where the judges, the monarchy, the military and the police are the main opposition parties

The double standards people have when they like the leader is quite amazing, I don’t know how people live their lives being such hypocrites. You see the same reactions when there are posts about his brother’s case or the Koldo case (this one being especially severe).

I wish to never see the world with the eyes of these people.

interesting how the judge in his ruling compared the current government’s behavior to the “absolutist regimes” of the 19th century.

Does that sound like an impartial legal analysis, Judge referring to 19th-century reign of Ferdinand VII, who was known for crushing liberal reforms and ruling with total unchecked power and liking it to Spain’s current government?

The facts certainly warrant an investigation and there are specific, documented institutional complaints (like those from the university) that require a trial to resolve.

But the timing right before election year and the dramatic language used by judge smells to me that Spanish legal system is being steered to maximize political damage.

She got an unpaid position at a University and people say it’s because being the wife of the President. That’s the extent of the alleged corruption.

People need to accept that you can agree with someone’s progressive politics and also call out blatant corruption

I read this morning that the judicial procedures for this case are already in the 24th month while it took 28 months for the judicial procedures of the 11M terrorist attacks.

Psoe is corrupt as shit, same as PP. If you support a spanish politician you are supporting a corrupt man/woman, Sanchez new fanboys need to realize this.

  16. So I guess Spanish courts are not afraid of anyone. Wish them luck to present us justice.

I haven’t followed Spanish politics for years now, but I recently came across an article outlining the various ongoing corruption cases and it all fell relatively minor compared to the shit that happened in the 80s and 90s.

The prime minister of Spain in the 80s was a literal terrorist for fucks sake.
