As a result of a Russian drone attack in Cherkasy, an eight-year-old boy was killed, Nine more people are in the hospital, including one child.
Oleksandr Minenko, a Cherkasy resident, lives in a neighboring building on the eighth floor. When it happened, he was at work. At home were his wife and grandson. They managed to run into the hallway.
“My wife and grandson were there. I arrived after it had already happened. The little one is frightened, my wife is crying. She had just come from Norway for her brother’s funeral. She was afraid to come, and I reassured her that nothing flies to us.”
According to Ihor Fesun, director of the regional emergency medical center, more than 10 medical teams were working at the scene:
“The total number of people who sought medical help is 14. Four were examined and treated on site. Nine injured were hospitalized in medical facilities across the city. Unfortunately, we have one fatality, an eight-year-old child. For nearly an hour and twenty minutes, both we and an anesthesiologist from the regional children’s hospital performed resuscitation, but unfortunately, the injuries were such that we could do nothing.”
