the gov should warn against putting big targets up, putin might try and shoot them down.

He should at least have to make the cross a bit thicker.

Normally I’d probably be against adorning a Grade II listed building with any kind of giant bright accoutrement, but if we’re being honest, that pub’s frontage isn’t going to be winning awards for its architectural beauty any time soon regardless.

I’d like to suggest that the England flag represents a large plus sign, a message of welcome to outsiders, “Welcome: we want to add your unique talents and energy to our country.” I’m sure that’s what this publican is going for.

Honestly why would they even want it in the first place lol, it just doesn’t look good unless they thicken it up maybe.

    >Landlord Jerry Kunkler first adorned The Moonrakers Inn in Pewsey, Wiltshire, with the St George’s flag to show his support for English sports teams in 2016.

The mural had been on the pub for 9 years before there was an investigation in November last year.

The “Every instance of the English flag is racist” brigade are as bad as the “my Chinese made George Cross must fly from every lamppost” brigade.

The argument for taking it down doesn’t need to be political. It just looks shit. Cross isn’t thick enough and it’s off-centre. Even if they got those bits right it’d probably still look shit.

Jesus, just let the patriots have their flag and stop giving the Tommy Robinson brigade more ammo. They want you to complain, they want the culture war. Let the flag just be a flag.

    >a member of the public complained the Grade II listed pub looked like “the headquarters of the National Front”.

Because of an inference *you’re making.*

    >Six people gave their support to the painted flag, four people objected and two people gave mixed comments.

Luckily the BBC are on the ball with bringing us the breaking news about this story.

Don’t get me wrong i don’t know why you would do that to that building anyway but personally I’m glad he’s allowed to keep it, it’s our flag and he shouldn’t have had to put up with woke idiots making a thing out of it.

The SNP did a good job of associating themselves and their politics with the saltire. Makes me sad that symbols that are supposed to bring unity are being abused by unscrupulous politicians and other cretins to divide instead of unite.

Clearly this person doesn’t know what a HQ would look like.

My complaint isn’t that it’s the flag, my complaint is that it just looks a bit crap.

IMHO the healthiest attitude to a red horizontal line crossing a red vertical line on a wall would be indifference.

Imagine pissing money up the wall with this bullshit.

There should be people getting sacked for this.

  16. BadBacksFuryToad on

This is a great warning for normal people not to go in that pub.

Yeah honestly in this case its an improvement. Grade 2 listed building, but also a featureless white cube.
Why do we only have miserable looking buildings in this country
