Very sad, a bit before my time but on the basis of old whistle test clips – He struck as down to earth and knowledgeable in his particular field. Great dulcet Yorkshire accent too. RIP Andy.
I remember him for stalking his ex-partner and being banned for drink driving.
A real loss. Oddly I was reminiscing whilst I made lunch about a radio program comment he made on his love for the shipping forecast. North Utsire/South Utsire was his favourite apparently. I sit down to eat and read this. Cheers Andy…..Rockall, Malin, Hebrides, Dogger, Fisher, German Bight.
