I think it looks good but would love some more bigger names from similar festivals like Reading.
Some people are never going to be happy with it though. The lads who went to Oxygen in 2006 will probably be all over the comments going “who?”.
slashba98 on
I think it’s fairly weak for the price we are paying to attend when you compare it to other festivals in Europe,
It just looks like there’s absolutely no budget for it to push the boat out it’s a symptom of selling out before you even have to announce an act
NandoFlynn on
Sombr shouldn’t be a headliner but other than that the new acts are all good. Loyle Carner was my favorite act of the festival last time he was down & I’ve been dying to see Wolf Alice & Men I Trust
Terminus will be busy anyways, practically all the acts will draw a crowd
WideChrome1 on
There’s lads who are dying to see the coronas at forest fest who will call this poor and ask who any of these people are.
Something to keep in mind

As an old school hip hop fan there’s absolutely nothing for me here ep used to have a line up for everybody now they seem like they only cater to a specific type of music lover
TheRoseStone on
This is honestly the best EP line-up I’ve seen in a very long time, it’s the first I’m actually regretting not having got a ticket for.
To really show the quality gap, just 2 years ago, we had Kodaline of all people subbing. Whoever booked them then is definitely not the same person who booked Geese this year
Exciting_Revenue645 on
Before I google who Sombr is; famous from 15 seconds of a song on TikTok?

Music festivals are so poor compared to the oxygen and witness days. So many mediocre bands and artists. Zara Larsson one of the headline acts just confirming how bad EP lineup is.
The3rdbaboon on
That’s better than last year imo, but stil doesn’t really interest me much. Some good DJs though. Id like to see Gorillaz again but not enough to go to this.
I went every year from 2008 until 2015 and loved it but it’s aimed at a different demographic now.

I’m getting on now (getting into the “who?” era of reading festival lineups), but this seems like the strongest offering from any of the major Irish festivals in a few years!

Festival lineups these days really make me feel old and out of touch… oh Gorillaz I know them, thats the guy from Blur.
iplaydrumsnotabox on
Can definitely see some people hating this lineup but the people who love it will absolutely love it (and I do). They managed to get pretty much every single indie band currently doing well for themselves in Irish crowds (Wunderhorse, Geese, Keo, Gurriers, bleech 9:3 etc.), as well as the irish favorites atm like the scratch & madra salach
Definitely not as “something for everyone” as other years
Turbulent_Citron_651 on
Great lineup with very good Irish representation. A good mix of Pop and Rock with a bit of rap and others thrown in too
MintyTyrant on
Did they spend all their budget on Chappell Roan last year 💀
The names are good but a lot of them already played Dublin a few months ago… or even within the past month like Sombr, Gorillaz, and Audrey… nobody on here that makes me feel holy SHIT *they’re* playing Ireland???
ShowTop1165 on
Djo and James Marriott are insanely good artists.
Gurriers, Men I Trust, Bleech 9:3, Cliffords, Florence Road, and Madra Salach are all also class – shame tickets are sold out otherwise I’d consider going to this instead of Leeds

Great lineup. Not sure I’ll be going this year, babies ruin everything. I’ve a queue of friends hoping I can’t go to take my ticket 😅

Would need another big name for me to consider going but as someone in their mid 30s this is the first time in forever I’ve said there’s something for me right down the list.

Wunderhorse are brilliant.

Its definitely decent but for the biggest Irish festival that has crazy expensive tickets id expect a few more big names. Especially considering two headliners, while great, are Irish so arent performers that if you dont see them here you wont get to see them ever.

I think I’ll chance driving up the Sunday and getting a band off someone leaving, cmat and fontaines would be a good evening
No_Waltz3545 on
Not aimed at me anymore but having Gorillaz (a band formed in 1998) as one of your headliners begs the question of exactly where is music at these days. Gorillaz are fine, some good tunes but is there no bands out there who are more current and worthy of a headline slot? Bizarre.

Maybe I’m an old curmudgeon, but I don’t see a single act there that would make me want to pay.

Zara, Jade, Adéla, Rose Gray… the girls and the gays are being looked after
HibernianMetropolis on
I think it’s a good lineup, but it’s a far cry from the heyday of Oxegen. Oxegen would have crammed all those headliners into one day. I’m glad to see so many Irish artists represented, but honestly I’d be a bit underwhelmed if I’d bought a ticket. It’s not like there have been any shortage of opportunities to see Fontaines, CMAT, Mary Wallopers, Saw Doctors etc in concert in Ireland
Drink_And_Skive on
The poster always feels like an ‘eye test’ for how knowledgeable my music taste is as I get older. Hope everyone going has a blast and in twenty years time when this gets posted in a retro sub people will be amazed that such a lineup was ever assembled for such a low ticket price.

Saw Gorillaz 2 weeks ago, other than that I’d like to see Fontaines, Geese, Wolf Alice, Gurriers and Madra Salach (seen the latter two before recently too).
Not nearly enough acts that are of interest (to me) in comparison to other festivals. I’d prefer to pay to just see some of these bands individually at a venue and see a full set.
Last time I went to EP was 2023, which had worse headliners (imo) but more bands I was keen on seeing (idles, viagra boys, amyl and the sniffers etc). Also helped that it was incredible weather and I got a free ticket for doing two 6 hour shifts backstage at salty dog haha

Is it?? I was probably spoiled with back to back Oxygen’s as a teen but to me this is a pretty bland line up for hundreds of Euros!

Forest Fest has a far superior line up for a much smaller festival
