Hmmmm…. is Lammy’s intent for this to reflect well on Starmer?

“He’d never have let Freddy Kruger babysit if he had bothered to check his finger nails”

I heard Starmer thought Mandelson was one of God’s most respectable miracles!

Hang on, I just need to google “gaslighting” for a minute here.

    “To us he’s just Peter”

To others, the Lord of Darkness.

    Who could have known

There’s no way Starmer would have approved Mandelson’s appointment if he had known that he was the infamous, multiple-times disgraced, prince of darkness Peter Mandelson. He thought it was just a random civil servant and the name was just a coincidence, honest. 🙄

He’s just very unlucky that whenever he’s in charge of something (eg as DPP or PM) other people within his purview make incredibly bad decisions and never tell him about them.

Slow news day, I guess. Really couldn’t care less about this story with everything going on rn

Criticise it all you want but this is pretty important. It was Lammy’s, department that overruled the block and allowed the appointment. It’s very possible that Starmer knew but if we take them at their word, and Starmer will say so in parliament Monday (lying in parliament would lead to his resignation) then this would go away unless evidence that Starmer actually knew comes out. That’s due process.
