It seems like it’s already being investigated, but it doesn’t strictly say whether they are holding a Jamieson or Middleton inquest.
I feel sad for the daughter and he sounds like he was a good chap.
The police didn’t kill him.
If his heart, presumably unbeknownst to him, was in a position of going into arrest after a fall, I am not sure that a lack of police intervention, and therefor a confrontation with the far-right group he was there to confront, would have served him all that well either.
The police cannot reasonably be expected to prevent two angry groups from reaching each other while at the same time being certain not to cause anybody to fall over…
It’s sad, but people die of heart attacks, and if you put yourself in an adrenalin raising situation, with an underlying problem, it is more likely to happen.
Rest in peace.
If there was police contact right before someone died, an independent investigation is the bare minimum for public trust
Condolences to the family and hopefully the full timeline and body cam CCTV evidence gets reviewed properly so there’s a clear answer either way
