Would be great if the state could purchase it and make public lands with a lot more natural trees.

Maybe that bollix that loves walking his dogs on Lug will buy it.

Loads of great hikes up through there… taking it into State ownership and management would be excellent.

In a sale of this size, first refusal should really go to the state with respect to preserving and restoring our natural habitats.

Should be a no brainer for the state to buy. 2 million quid is nothing. 6 bike sheds. For 1500 acres that could be planted with native woodland.

How does one own a whole mountain? Is it just a case of someone put up barbed wire 50 years ago and now its theirs?

One of the interested parties is from the Middle East, ffs. There should absolutely be a mechanism in place to ensure such lands end up in the hands of the state.

    8. The land is subject to grazing rights. So you can forget doing anything with it.

      It’s an inflation hedge.

This really needs to be state owned and then remove any sheep from it.

as some have said State needs to buy this and plant a Native Forest there

1,527 acres for 2 million Euro

thats not even 1,400 an Acre the State would be a Fool not to buy into this and plant a Native Forest there

The idea that one person can own a mountain is fucking absurd.
