I have not seen it posted here, but much like STALKER, despite Metro’s setting, is very much a Ukrainian developed game and you can see many inspirations from the war for the story and themes in the trailer.

Also, the author of the game (and books) is Dmitry Glukhovsky, who is Russian but anti-war and anti-Putin, and has had to leave Russia because Putin wants him arrested.

  3. Hopefully they treat the developers better than they did with last light.

I’ve read the books, scary stuff when I was in my early teens!

Not much a gamer outside of the odd sports game but I randomly tried the Metro series a year ago and fell in love with all of them. Can’t wait for this one

Honestly, the metro franchise is probably one of my favourites despite all its flaws.

There’s something about the writing, the environmental storytelling, and the music. It’s dripping with a tragic sort of love that I can’t quite describe. But when you play the game and feel it, you get it. Maybe it’s a thing that people who’ve experienced Soviet oppression can express. I felt the same way playing frostpunk and this war of mine, which were by a polish studio

It’s also one of the few shooters that actively makes you not want to take life. There’s something about it that I can’t quite understand. There’s a sort of humanity in the game that a lot of others sorely lack.

I’m looking forward to when this comes out
