Guess my Europe based defense stonks are going up soon-ish.

Can you sue a state for not giving a valid reason for not delivering something stated in a contract ?

    3. koensch57 on

Trump modi operandus. Ignore contracts, negotiate after signing and litigate the hell out of the contract party.

Trump dies not have “business partners”, but “business opponents”.

At this point, they are just stealing from us. But if we are lucky, Von der Leyen will give a speech on how Turkey cant be trusted.

Trump.obviously chose Estonia first on the advice of his good friend Putin.

Again, no one in their right mind would trust the Americans. Trump and the rest of them are hyper transactional. If [John Deere can shut down tractors remotely](https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/01/europe/russia-farm-vehicles-ukraine-disabled-melitopol-intl/index.html?fbclid=IwAR0Zk2NGD_leAJxU5MODs2SCStp5YpVz9oiKfxrbNSokwABsYA58B0AaVzs). You know Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and the rest can turn those F-35s into bricks too

Who wants to discover this for the first time as Russia troops are pouring over the border and the Americans are demanding a trillion euros to turn the gear back on?

    7. No_Conversation_9325 on

At this point it’s bit unsettling for those countries who committed to 5% via giving money to US.

    8. bukowsky01 on

But don’t worry, keep buying Patriots, HIMARS, and F-35s… Go for US radars and combat systems, base your defence on it. It’s all good.

    9. venom259 on

You know I wander just how the military industrial complex feels about these things?

You’d think their influence would prevent these things because ultimately it hurts their bottom line.

The EU needs to stop relying on the US for its defense equipment for exactly this reason. The US is an unreliable ally at best.

    11. hot_space_pizza on

Arms that were paid for. America is running out so keeping everything they have even if it belongs to someone else.
I’m not sure anyone will buy American again in our lifetime.

    12. VeryluckyorNot on

2,5 years is the time to make EU army and see they will get a normal US president again or not.

      US: Losers! Give me Greenland.

      Europe: What!? No…

US: Losers! You lot didn’t step up in Afghanistan anyway, you hung back.

      Europe: What!? No…

US: Whatever losers. I epically attacked Iran midway through negotiations. I won. Anyway open the Strait of Hormuz for me.

      Europe: What!? No…

US: Losers! Well now you’re not getting the stuff you paid for. Should have helped me win the war I already won to destroy the uranium I already destroyed months ago. You don’t have any cards.

      Europe: What!? No…

Shout out to dumbasses on this sub and elsewhere who argued that it was better to keep buying from the US of A because “we need the weapons now and European systems will only be available in 5-10 years !”. Congratulations ! Now you ain’t getting shit ! Serves them right !

    16. pickus_dickus on

What a coincidence just war analytics say there is a chance of ruzzia attacking a Nato member… probably Estonia. Thanks America aka our former ally.

    17. RobbysYourFathersBro on

While I would not discount the US is just doing this as a favour to Putin or simply a FU to Europe, it is also likely the US stopped shipments because they depleted their own stockpile or expect to need these weapons soon.

    18. Low_Technician7346 on

Is the US preparing the fields for a possible Russia invasion of Baltic states ?

Remember the Axis: Trump Putin Netnayaniou are all friends

    19. grafknives on

So, Trump is stopping deliveries to country Putin made clear he would like to invade?

    20. Expensive-Rhubarb-45 on

Guess they are preparing EU borders for Russian invasion and blockage of article 5 in case of Rus attack. US would probably say same thing that EU said about Iran, it’s not our war, and additionally maybe silently take Greenland. Well tough times coming to europe soon…

    21. midnightrider747 on

Well then just buy weapons elsewhere and let them figure out their mess in Iran.

Who gonna buy in us tech when a unpredictable madman is at reign who you dont know if he evrr honor his words.

    22. BongWaterEnjoyer on

Funny coincidence as there have been green men near Estonias border and some talks about separatists causing issues in the future

    23. Ok_Courage5310 on

The current Finnish government is very loyal to US. No matter what US will do they will deny anything is wrong and assure the Finns how the US is still trustworthy partner.

    24. peristyl on

We really need to put our shit together and be able to defend ourselves without enemies disguised as unreliable allies.

    25. I wonder how many billions the EU has paid the US that’s just basically stolen now.

    26. Griffolion on

You don’t do this unless you want to leave Estonia vulnerable to invasion from Russia. In any other situation, this would be presidency ending.

    27. ronadian on

I suppose one day we’ll read something like “Baltics stop purchasing US arms”. It certainly looks that way.

    28. No_Clock2390 on

“Pevkur said the main issues the situation is causing are related to HIMARS (light multiple rocket launcher) ammunition and Javelin missiles.” But those weapons aren’t being used in Iran War.

    29. the_mighty_peacock on

Europe should pull all their gold from the US asap.
