Al post fanno seguito un paio di affermazioni secondo cui la polizia ha multato delle persone e di solito è la parola del poliziotto contro la loro. Ecco cosa potresti fare nel caso in cui ritieni che la multa sia ingiusta:

Listen, if I had a euro for every driver in Luxembourg I see using their phone while driving… well I could afford to buy a home in the city center. It’s crazy, if you go to any reputable job site and are operating heavy machinery while texting you don’t get a warning… you get to go home and start looking for a new job. If you are operating a motor vehicle that weights 1000+kg you are obligated to treat the people around you with some respect and keep the phone away.

Damn I remember reading her post here on reddit a couple weeks ago

Ah, the old “my word against yours” issue. If only there was some sort of device available for use which could take a time-stamped video of events, maybe even store a copy of it for some time. Still, I guess that’s firmly within the realm of science fiction.

Anecdotally though, I see a ridiculous number of people driving whilst using their phones, and I’d be glad to see the police making genuine efforts to penalise it.

From 4000 to 5600 fines in a year and then similar the following year. But the previous 3 yeqrs were all around 4000. Somethings up there.

  5. Police in Luxembourg can do almost whatever they want. I have never heard that formal complaint or reclaim has been fruitful.

“Even if police do not write a ticket, just being stopped can leave a mark on a motorist.”

    BOOHOO.

Distracted driving is a curse on the roads. No one should be falsely accused, but there has to some sort of trust that the police are not blatantly lying. Neither of the arguments (I listen to music through Bluetooth or I left my phone at home) are super convincing unless you allow the Police to search your entire car and body for a phone.

Without video, there is no way to prove someone was on their phone, it comes down to the word of the police vs motorist. I think these squeaky wheels are getting a lot of grease, but the vast majority of these tickets are deserved.

It’s an epidemic and needs to be stopped. I’m driving right now and see way too many people on their phones.

Wow, police abuse their power! Totally new and unexpected.

I support this because people are not reacting timely to change of lights on crossings.

It happened to me that the driver going from opposite direction drifted fully onto my lane. I avoided head on collision in the last moment by driving onto the sidewalk with 50km/h. Other driver looked like he is sleeping, and I guess it was a screen that he was looking at.

What I don’t support are police fulfilling the quota of tickets to give per week, by abusing the authority and power given to them.
