Georgians have strict rule and code of honour: never speak English unless it’s with somebody who doesn’t understand it. Now, that might sound like I’m bullshitting — but ask any genuine Georgian here and test the veracity of statement.
Now, a cousin of mine visited a few days ago and he could speak just English, but claims he was able to communicate just fine with everybody using sign language.
Mods — confirm to OP that I’m telling the truth.

If you need serious answer: most of younger generation will understand you perfectly, with older ones, use some translating apps.

It depends. Young people? Yes they know english. People over 40? They will understand most basic words but most are no were close to fluency in my experience. Older generation knows Russian a lot better than younger one though.
