are those apartment blocks? same thing happened here in the states (to some degree), as long as theyre affordable then seems fine to me? people need a place to sleep tbh.

Lot of people in comments dont seem to understand the problem here. The problem is not that new apartment complexes are getting built per say but the quality of these new complexes. With terrible planning, bland ugly facades, with no consideration of its surronundings, cutting down trees, building in green zones etc..and new residents making alrrady terrible traffic in tbilisi even worse. There are lot of cases where build quality is terrible as well. For example One 12 story or so complex had to be demolished near vaja statue, and i know lot of other new buildongs that have structural problems as well. There are a lottt of things wrong with the way these new areas are developing in tbilisi.

One thing is for sure. Georgia and especially Tbilisi need new apartment blocks. The state of many houses is not bearable anymore.

I think eventually people will realize their needs, and developers will start building more complexes rather than random blocks. Actually this pattern is already emerging, there are many projects being built which are not just apartment blocks anymore, but complexes with full infrastructure (kindergartens, schools, shops, parks, etc).

It’s either apartments or slums. I’ll prefer apartments

Seeing some of the brickwork in the majority of new builds dotted around Isani makes me want to never purchase a place in Tbilisi. First light earthquake here will cause ridiculous amounts of damage ๐

Is the red building in the middle actually the same? It looks like two totally different buildings.

The worst thing is, thereโs nowhere to park. People just park their cars haphazardly.
