At home, a rural town outside of Trondheim city. I also saw a pretty epic one IN the city a couple of years ago, though I was maybe more impressed that I could see it that clearly in the city at all. This was during a period of very high aurora activity and it became more and more clear as I headed out of the city and back home.

I haven’t really gone to Northern Norway a whole lot…and when I did it was too bright for any Northern Lights.

On average, the best place is around Tromsø/Alta. That’s in the middle of the Auroral Oval. The best I have seen it was just beside the Seven Sisters in Helgeland.

    Late summer around 01′
Was at a sleepover at a friend who’s mother used to go out partying all weekend so we brought our PCs and had a LAN party/booze party. We went out to a burger place late at night and on our way back the most magnificent Aurora appeared on the sky.

We lay down in the grass for a while, just mesmerised.
