Is there a reliable way to check if a used car is overpriced in Cyprus?

  2. Can’t help you there – but you piqued my interest: never heard of carmou before. I tried it a few times and I disagree with its evaluations. Seems to think that overpriced vehicles are bargains. I can tell you that typically on Baaraki, sellers, especially of private cars, hugely inflate their asking prices. No idea though if this is a normal, anticipated practice where the seller fully expects to agree on a significantly lower price. Good luck.

The second-hand market in Cyprus in general doesn’t make much sense. You see people selling a 2012 car for more money than several people with a 2016 version with less mileage and similar options. After all, their car is a super special edition and only a real insider will know how special it really is.

In my view, these people need a specific amount of cash for something and just tell themselves their car is worth that much and they then don’t negotiate much because they insist that this is what they deserve.

Since Brexit, Cypriots lost access to a cheap second hand cars. So now when buying second hand or even new car you are at the mercy of the seller.

I mean if you’re willing to pay the price it’s not overpriced lol.

Cyprus second hand market is very expensive.

sweet spot for a good deal is probably something from 10-15years with 150-200k kms at 4-5500eu. If you have the flexibility go newer but smaller rather than older and bigger for the same price.

lower than 4000eu you can find deals but you’re gonna be filtering through a lot of junk. Most of the 2500eu stuff and below belongs better in the junkyard.

As one of my friends keeps saying: “There is no such thing as a fair market price in Cyprus. Absolutely anything can cost absolutely anything.”
