Just to be pedantic, but its only localised extinction. The species as a whole has a stable population across Europe.
English reds are at risk. Scottish reds are also considered stable.
Grey Squirrels are delicious and easy to catch, we should get on eating em out the country, spatchcocked squirrel is genuinely wonderful, very sweet and delicate meat.
There are loads of greys in my local woods. If only I could take a few out…
How about environments that colour naturally suits their survival
Why have grey squirrels displaced reds pretty much completely in England but not mainland Europe or Scotland?
