Benkunskas sostiene una disposizione legale che richiederebbe ai cittadini non europei di dimostrare una conoscenza della lingua lituana almeno di livello A2 al momento del rinnovo del permesso di soggiorno temporaneo dopo tre anni. Attualmente non esiste tale requisito.

      I’m all for residents knowing the local language but why only non-EU ones? German living in LT should also know Lithuanian…

      Mayoral election PR campaign continues because what does a candidate need? Public visibility, especially on a topic that people in general agree with, so this is exactly that, “look at how good Benkunskas is, wink wink nudge nudge”, all the while leaving aside the point that public backing alone is very unlikely to result in anything concrete.
