Mia moglie ed io stiamo cercando di scoprire di più sul passato di suo nonno. Non è più con noi e non ha mai parlato della guerra, ma siamo curiosi di conoscere la storia della sua vita.
Nacque in Polonia intorno al 1924 nella regione di Poznan e in qualche modo finì in Olanda nel 1945, dove sposò una ragazza e mise su famiglia. Poi nel 1990 è diventato nonno della mia adorabile moglie.
Qualcuno può dirmi che uniforme è questa e dove ha prestato servizio? Spero che il distintivo e l’emblema aiutino. L’intelligenza artificiale non può davvero aiutare, quindi speriamo che questa comunità possa farlo. Non ho immagini aggiuntive.

Im 90% certain he’s in a british battledress uniform. That means that he was part of the Polish army in exile, and since he stayed in the netherlands, its very likely he was part of the first armored division under general Stanisław Maczek. Its famous for liberating Breda and other major cities in the country.
Not sure about the badges yet, but ill comment again if i find anything.
Edit: Completely scratch that, its a US uniform afterall. Explanation below. As to how he got to the netherlands, he could have been a forced labourer, emmigrated before the war, or even fought with the brits like i originally said. No way to know.
He was part of the Polish Guards Companies under US Army in ~1944-1945 (evidenced by the GCTC breast badge). The other badge is most likely the company he was in. There were around 100 companies created made up of former Polish POW and Polish Holy Cross brigade soldiers. They were used as auxiliary troops serving beside US Military Police guarding German POWs, demobilizing US soldiers etc.
