Putin would never agree to a ceasefire for a similar parade in Kyiv

…or he would, but then he would attack anyway

    2. PowerResponsibility on

If Zelenskyy had decided not to attack the parade anyway, not an awful thing to do.  Sounds like he really wanted the prisoner swap.

They could still drop paint or glitter or leaflets.  That wouldn’t violate the ceasefire.

I don’t think they would have attacked the red square anyway, but do you know what? Seems lots of air defence have been moved to Moscow so some strategic targets are probably more vulnerable and worth destroying now

Taking into account numerous requests, with a humanitarian purpose outlined in negotiations with the American side on May 8, 2026, I hereby decree:

    5. Smart move by Zelensky. They were probably forced by USA, but still in a way that strenghts their position.

F***ng Putin, went straight to Trump to complain and now Z had to agree to it in order to look like a warmonger.

    7. Theocratic on

Clearly Putin lost points since he needs Zelensky’s permission

..One second after the parade ends, the Ukrainian drones of justice will strike, within earshot of the parade attendees.
      I guarantee it. 👍

This is bullshit, russia will break the ceasefire in 5 minutes after parade ends and we will have no ability to disrupt it after that.
It should’ve been a ceasefire for three days BEFORE the parade, so if russia breaks it, red square will be attacked, now we are playing putin’s fiddle again what the fuck

    10. Invisible_Dragon on

I do like the phrasing “authorizes the parade”. Could have said “graciously permits” too. Out of the goodness of his heart.

Absolutely stupid. Why is he doing exactly what Trump and Putin want? It makes him look like he’s bowing down to Putin’s threats. Trump is doing nothing to help Ukraine at this point, idk why Zelensky keeps trying to appease him. Extremely disappointing.

    12. namewithanumber on

Hopefully russia learns from this that Ukraine is merciful.

All they had to do from the start was just ask permission to do their little parade.

Donald Trump, Russias biggest and best asset, doing everything possible to support Russia at the cost of his country.

So for Frump.. I guess this is what, war 9 or 10 he’s resolved in his eyes?

Fun to see that nowa Ukrainien are now dictating what and how things are going in Russia and moscow

    16. ringtail_catz on

Lol, Zelenskyy’s the one who gets to authorize Moscow’s parade. Seems like he’s got some cards now, huh?

    17. An absolute masterclass! Zelensky gracefully *allows* Putin to march a few soldiers across Red Square (because you now, tanks are difficult these days …) as a favor so he can stroke his little-man ego while Ukraine takes care of its citizens in arms. No better way to make Putler look like the whiny bitch he is – if it was possible, I’d admire Zelensky even more!

    18. SlowDekker on

The parade is probably the most defended place on earth at the moment. There is no point to choose that target.

    19. hodlerhoodlum on

What if he used storm shadows, are they technically Ukrainian weapons?

    20. augustus331 on

Don’t underestimate the impact of Putin having to aask the President of Ukraine to allow Russia to hold their parade.

Putin is weak, internal cracks are showing. This adds to that.
