Personalmente, sono un forte alleato LGBTQIA+ e mi disgusta che possano diffondere la loro retorica piena di odio. So che qui c’è libertà di parola, ma deve esserci un limite alla propaganda e all’incitamento all’odio.

I’d say it’s within their “freedom of speech” but I hope they somehow get absolutely fucked from all sides.

    2. The ECJ has explicitly said that countries are not required to allow same-sex marriages, however, they must recognize same-sex marriages registered in other EU member states.

So, therefore, this advertisement is not illegal under EU or national law. It does not promote hatred but a political view of the party. Perfectly normal to have a disagreement on a controversial topic.

It’s just sad that those idiots do really exist.

Fuck ELAM and fuck anyone who believes they have the right to limit someone’s freedom to love and a family. These cunts are absolutely OBSESSED with queer people, but that’s understandable since they have no mental capacity to focus on what actually matters – income inequality, climate change and corruption.

This goes beyond freedom of speech; it impedes on the freedom of others and spreads hate, but alas, these cunts don’t view me or other queer people as human soooo 🤷‍♀️

    5. Deep-Ad4183 on

It is debatable whether it goes beyond freedom of speech.

    11. ThrowRA_Respo9653 on

“Cyprus first” as if gay people are not part of this country. Great way to isolate and discriminate specific groups. Whoever agreed to allow this sign (Strovolos municipality) is also to blame

    12. Fabulous-Yellow8331 on

Literally that’s all they have to offer. Hate speech. And they’re looking to attract uneducated homophobes who would vote them solely for being homophobic. No political or any sort of agenda, no plans, no nothing. Just fishing votes through hating. Hating their own people, Cypriots, simply for being who they are. How are homosexual Cypriots less worthy than them or other non-homosexual Cypriots? Nonsense. And having the audacity to publicly display their hate agenda – all this in 2026 and in an EU Country!

ELAM are the biggest pussies .

Scared of the gays. Scared of brown people. Scared of change. Scared of everything.

Like if you’re scared some Bangladeshi guy making 800eu a month on Wolt is gonna take over your country, maybe you’re not actually providing that much value to your country.

Not to mention their whole macho persona is completely antithetical to their policies which are even more socialist than AKEL. Give money to refugees, give money to people with 3+ kids, give tax breaks to businesses, give money to basically everyone (no idea who pays for all this shit, maybe the Bangladeshis). Govt to take control of all TC property. Govt to give free land to people to farm (lol). No idea what they’ll farm, maybe cactuses because their environmental policy is ass.

Not to mention dumbass shit that their idiot supporters think is legit, like giving “travel documents” to immigrants so they can go to EU. What kind of “travel documents”? As far as I know you need a passport or ID. Are they saying they’ll make these immigrants citizens (so they get passport and ID) and then they’ll be entitled to pensions, gesy, benefits etc that ELAM has been crying that they’re using? Or is it just imaginary travel documents?

Not to mention they want to deny citizenship to Cypriots not living in RoC. But they don’t mention how this is gonna fuck all the UK/aus/US etc Cypriots. Just depending on their ignorant supporters not thinking.

Joke of a party with joke policies supported by jokers who want to blame everyone else for their problems instead of looking inwardly.

There was a study done a few years back. 10% of the population in each country is gay. Now think not as a person, as a proper human being and rather as a politician. They are alienating 10% of the population. It speaks volumes on their intelligence.

    16. Personally, I see it as two separate issues.

Marriage between two adults of the same sex does not really bother me at all, if two people want to live together and have legal protection, property rights, etc, they have should have every right

However when it comes to adoption I have way more reservations. If I think about it personally if I were reborn as a baby I would not want to grow up with two fathers or two mothers. Not because I believe that a gay man or a lesbian woman cannot love a child but because I believe that ideally a child benefits from the presence of both a maternal and a paternal figure, this is how humans from historic ages were wired

    17. Glad to see this thread is mostly in the “fuck those guys” camp. I love this island and my kids are growing up here. I hoped, am and glad to see, attitudes changing. Even if this is just one reddit thread. Ive seen more and more of it each year since I moved here.

Something else I’d like to comment on here. Even if this fits within their right of free speech, cuz I saw comments debating whether this is freedom of speech or not. Even if it is – it is still hate speech. You target a certain group of people within a society, the Cypriot society: people who go through the same hardships as YOU, people who pay the same taxes as YOU, people who have the same responsibilities towards the state as YOU. If that’s freedom of speech, let it be. But it doesn’t mean it’s not hate speech, especially when you target a specific community and their rights. Rights that according to these people some Cypriots can have and some other Cypriots can’t. Depending on who they love. What a load of BS. In 2026. And an important detail – we are talking about a community that caused no harm to *anyone* at any point for it to be fought like this and to be used as a political tool to gain votes through…. Hate speech. Cuz that’s what it is. Even if according to some it’s also freedom of speech.

    19. ButWhatIfPotato on

Dude how can you hate gay people so much if your party’s iconography is literally naked spartans playing grabass with each other?

    20. tkchrist on

F*ck these guys. What’s the point here? Being gay erases your cultural backround, negates your identity and citizen’s rights?

    21. Key_Ad_5271 on

I mean okay let’s just say no adoption for gay people. Great. what about the real issues of Cyprus? or the biggest issue are gay people and adoption? get a grip people.

    22. Honest_Hair2856 on

No issues at all with same sex marriage they need legal protection for their future and is their human right . Adoption I’m not yet sure to be certain neither I have experience or met someone in that situation to have a strong opinion about it. Personally o bealive a household need a man and a woman, different approaches, ideas, responsibilities in a kids life . But as I said I don’t have an example to take into consideration and compare

    23. According-Hedgehog14 on

Guys let’s face reality. ELAM represents a big portion of Cyprus society. I’m not a supporter of any of there ideologies but.
Here is some personal examples that I believe are apply to many places in Cyprus.
Growing up in this hustle society, as a kid in school, kids used to say things for mothers of others kids… image now a kid with gay parents how much bulling his gonna get.
Now you have ELAM make them feel they are right to do so.
I feel there is no hope in this society

    24. wHyYoUwAnTtOkNoFaM on

In the midst of a genocide, a worldwide housing and employment crisis, inflation, the country being bought out by colonial powers disguised as “investors” and many more, gELAMe wants to shift your attention towards marginalized communities so you don’t question the status quo.

      Fuck nazis.

    25. Fatality_Ensues on

Regardless of what you think of it, this isn’t a message of hate It’s a clear political stance. I’ve certainly seen much more explicit graffiti near schools (often made by schoolkids, but what they write is a direct result of their parents’ and other adult figures’ teachings).

And to be clear I’m not talking about football stuff.
