Believe a snake oil man once.. well you’re an idiot. Believe him twice and you should be certified.

Despite all the news media self-censorship and the aggressive policing of social media there is clearly an enormous and still growing discontent about immigration, freedom of speech and economic stagnation. This is something Labour is going to either have to shift course on and address directly or you’ll have Nigel fucking Farage at the wheel before you know it.

This is the exact same trap the US fell into. Instead of addressing the obvious frustrations of a huge part of the voter base, the Democrats had a strategy where they either insisted that it wasn’t a problem or that you were some kind of racist/sexist if you had an issue with anything.

Guess what, in a democracy everyone has a vote, and if such a large portion of your population are voting for radicals/extremists, you’re doing something wrong in governing.

    3. Well it seems not only Americans are idiots. Majority of people on Earth are.

      Except Hungarians that is

This is a structure of votes that is very reminiscent to what is generally happening all across western Europe and the US. Between 25% and 33% of voters gone to the far right in a situation of plurality but nontheless far removed from hegemony – that is, if they can finally convince the traditional conservatives to cave and do their bidding

Reform? Is that Nigel Farage? Why would you ever vote for … ???

    6. In rushing for the centre right vote (and failing miserably) Labour has completely lost its values which has made them completely unelectable for a majority of their base.

We’re stuck for another 3 years with a party who doesn’t know who it is and without enough parliamentary support to pass more centre right leaning polices because they are traditionally not a centre right leaning party.

It’s so obvious, they could be a credible alternative to the hate and division but nope, further and faster in to oblivion.

Keir Starmer was beyond terrible. I hate when people use the word fascist lightly but right out of the gate he started implementing policies that would fit the term were he from a right wing party. For those who don’t know, he was the most unpopular British prime minister in History (polls started about 200 years ago) and despite Labour having far more popular potential leaders, he refused to step down and, at least, let his party save itself. The man was a disgrace on all levels. It’s a shame that the Brits are flocking to a far right populist, but that’s a symptom, not the desease.

It’s just council elections. They have no real power.

Ah yes typical brits! Firstly shoot it the foot (by believing farage brexit plan), and now right in the face

For Labour, this doesn’t look like a failure-  it’s a complete catastrophe.

They’re probably lucky that not all MPs were up for re-election; otherwise, they would have been wiped out entirely.

Sure, you can say that Farage is a complete idiot and a nobody, but that only means that neither Labour nor the Conservatives were able to get their voters to turn out (turnout was around a third of eligible voters), and they lost to Farage.

Labour already needs to decide what to do with Starmer- it could end up that after him, there’ll be such a wasteland that Labour never recovers.

Yea, just elect racists and fascists. I am sure that will work GREAT.

      Fucking morons.

I do not know it is good comparison, but it seems people voted to Reform bc next big party is fucked up so bad (Labor and Starmer), just like in USA when Trump got elected , not bc people loved Trump, but the opposition was Joe Biden.

It’s good that these are local elections. They don’t have much power and they’ve already been gutted by the previous central governments. So now reform hs try and find a way to fund all the tax cuts they are promising.

    14. We are idiots and we never learn about corrupt racist politicians such as Farage , Trump and so on ! Well done England
