[Hungary] Dopo il suo insediamento, il Ministro dell’Ambiente ha annunciato una moratoria immediata sul disboscamento nelle foreste protette.

>I hereby declare an immediate moratorium on logging in protected forests. We can no longer allow clear-cutting; our forests are not merely timber resources, but represent our future and the integrity of our homeland. We will reform state forestry management so that ecological principles, rather than profit, finally become the guiding priority.

His plans:

* Gajdos László announced a major overhaul of Hungary’s environmental governance system, including the rebuilding of a dedicated environmental ministry after more than a decade.
* He pledged to introduce the strictest industrial environmental sanctions system in the European Union, with tougher penalties and stricter enforcement against polluters.
* He plans to strengthen national parks and create a new nationwide nature protection authority, while also doubling the number of conservation rangers.
* He announced major animal welfare reforms, including the creation of an animal welfare guard and a ban on the use of big cats, elephants, primates, and marine mammals in circuses.
* He emphasized water retention and sustainable water management as national priorities, advocating for modern irrigation methods, rainwater conservation, and reforms to Hungary’s water infrastructure
