It’s so cool that we saw how malls destroyed towns, and then we decided that’s what we need in Cyprus also.
Οι συγκεκριμένες αναπτύξεις, που χωροθετούνται ανάμεσα σε δύο διασταυρώσεις κεντρικών δρόμων και σε μια απόσταση μόλις 300 περίπου μέτρων η μία από την άλλη και σε μια περιοχή που βρίσκεται σε κατάσταση κυκλοφοριακής ασφυξίας, αφορούν το «The Mall of Limassol», έργο της Atterbury Europe (ιδιοκτήτριας εταιρείας του Mall of Cyprus και του Εμπορικού Πάρκου Σιακόλα και του Mall of Engomi), που χωροθετείται σε περιοχή της Μέσα Γειτονιάς (Δήμος Λεμεσού), στις συμβολές των λεωφόρων Γεωργίου Νεοφύτου, Σπύρου Κυπριανού και Αγίου Αθανασίου, και το «Limassol Mall», ιδιοκτησία του Nicosia Mall και του Ομίλου Παπαντωνίου, το οποίο σχεδιάζεται να ανεγερθεί στον Άγιο Αθανάσιο, απέναντι από το Jumbo, περιοχή όπου ήδη λειτουργούν, σε μικρή ακτίνα, αρκετά πολυκαταστήματα αλλά και η Βιομηχανική Περιοχή Αγίου Αθανασίου με 5.000 εργαζομένους.
I study at CUT here in Limassol, I know more people that I should know that are actually thinking of dropping out because they can’t afford the rents anymore. But hey sure, lets build a couple more malls 😑
I do not agree with some locations, but current “malls” not even close to real one. It will be nice something better and closer to city center.

They could have made Anexartisias an amazing pavement filled with trees, benches and a great square in front of the Administration building. They could have extended that to other one way roads and made the old town a heaven for pedestrians and shopping. Instead they listened to couple dumbfucks who own stores there and told them they would lose customers. So years ago they went ahead and didn’t touch Anexartisias. Tons of stores left and many other are struggling. Malls are flourishing and this is Cyprus my friend. Where few selfish rich people control the future of a whole city.
