The problem with family purity day is that it was created to directly oppose the LGBT movement and under the false pretence of celebrating the family day people just defend the homophobic actions of people whi violently disbanded the Lgbt parade many people were injured some where even killed and on the same day of thid tragedy the church announced that the family purity day would celebrated that day

“family purity day” is a government and church propaganda tool, that’s why.
It was created and for the first time held a day AFTER angry mobs best up bloody a bunch teenagers and killed a journalist who participated in pride parade. It was created to appease the ultraconservative and alt right electorate. It mirrors similar propaganda events in Russia and generally supports the whole “gay people are plague that and we have to rid the world of them, but we are not discriminating, we are saving the children™️”

It is organised by the same government, that is currently saying that lifesaving medicine for children is too expensive and therefore not needed.

It is the same government that closes its eyes on domestic abuse.

It’s the same government that fails to investigate abuse in child shelters.

It’s the same church that is covering up sexual abuse in churches.

It’s the same government that creates conditions so “good” mothers have to leave the country and work illegally abroad to support their kids.

      Family purity, my ass.

Never seen hate more deserved than that lol

I’m lucky I don’t know any of these morons

    4. They’re right that’s exactly why this country will never be european

If y’all wanna keep a russian mentality and slowly turn into a “yeah our country is a shithole no one wants to live in but atleast were homophobic!!!” then be my guest, intelligent and progressive people will leave the country, it’ll collapse and then it’ll just be reabsorbed into russia when no one is here to defend us

Conservatives in this country are directly contributing to our russification and they deserve way more hate, but the general population seems comfortable with having a ruSSian party in charge so ig it is what it is

Cool to know, the chronology of this day, it is clear why people do not like this.

Thanks to all who explained it in the comments

    6. This day is one of the most nothingburger things to celebrate. I’m not forgetting May 17th 2013.

Algorithms work that way. Different videos end up with different audience

If you look up videos of people beuting up pride parade, all comments are positive

dude this “celebration” is a anti lgbtq parade, originally people tried to have some sort of gay pride and were beaten up by homophobic people led by priests..

But if you read the actual article from OC media that you partially reposted here you would know that..

I like Family Purity Day. It highlights hypocrisy and ignores domestic violence and sexual abuse within families toward minors all over the country. Most men have a cheating mentality with prostitutes, catfishing minors, and harassing women in the street. Some are even hidden gays.
And it’s impossible for normal people to hang out today or even go to a bar because those people come around harassing others, then get shocked by how much beer costs in bars and restaurants. They buy cheap beer from stores, drink in the streets from plastic cups, leave trash everywhere, piss and vomit outside afterward. Yeah, I really like Family Purity Day.

Who is supporting this?I think even right wing and religious people would find it stupid to make up a holiday for this

    12. CakeAvailable600 on

Somehow the liberal Georgian tend to forget that our European values go hand in hand with Christianity. Liberals never left the country and think a holiday celebrating the purity of the family is somehow bad. You have no clue about Europe. It’s because of people like you that we won’t get accepted to the EU not because of Christians.

    13. Wow, so much hate toward families in this thread. Sick perverts.

    14. BottleDisastrous on

People are just mad that people who were anti lgbt parades made their own day as a retaliation. It’s just people being nearsighted and petty.

    15. This is why I love Georgia. Still a solid Christian country..

    16. _Mundog_ on

Its just a day created because many Georgians still believe that a global gay conspiracy is real. Many Georgians still believe that a gay person could somehow convince a Georgian straight person to be gay.

Its mocked by others rightly as a day to celebrate for people who are so insecure in their sexuality that they believe another might sway them.

Also – very high level of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

While I dont think all Georgians who take part, or who like the idea of Christian family values fall into this camp – that is the actual reason the day was created. As such it will never escape the mockery. It also wouldnt influence EU membership to continue to do it really.

It’s not a “Family Day”, it’s a Homophobia march which GD is using as a demonstration of its power so I’m glad people are insulting the people participating in this
