**Topal Osman** is widely documented by historians as the chief hands-on perpetrator of massacres, village burnings, and looting targeting the Greek population across the Pontus region.
While Nureddin Pasha acted as the highest institutional and military authority, he authorized and orchestrated the planning and logistical orders for expulsions.

Interestingly, Topal Osman attempted to assassinate Mustafa Kemal in the Presidential Mansion.
But according to accounts from Mustafa Kemal’s wife, he left the residence before the attack with the women under the guise of the veil he wore. And moved to the Prime Minister’s residence.

As expected, later on, Topal Osman was captured and killed, and then found guilty. I am not joking, he first killed, then a decision was made about his punishment.

There has been no genocide on Greeks of Pontus.

They rebelled, terrorized cities, taking advantage of a collapsing state with help of external powers and eventually got repressed. If you start a war, burn down villages, kill civilians, you must bear consequences.

This so called genocide argument is so weak that Venizelos nominated Mustafa Kemal for nobel peace prize. This so called genocide allegations started in 1990s, 70 years after the end of population exchange.

These silly claims will not and cannot put shadow on Turkish national day of 19th May Ataturk commemoration, Youth and Sports day which is widely celebrated in Turkey and Cyprus.

“Cyprus government”, which claims to be government of Turkish Cypriots as well posting such nonsense, baseless claims is another oxymoron, because this PoV is pure EOKA, the terror organization that attempted to make Cyprus a Greek island and failed.
Typical Greek mindset; if we win a war, its heroic act, a few honorable fighters won against gazillion Turks, but if we lose war, its genocide of gazillion people.

“Επεκτατική πολιτική” στη συγκεκριμένην περίπτωσην εν ιστέκει σαν χαραχτηρισμός, οι Πόντιοι (τζιαι οι Ασσύριοι, Αρμένιοι κλπ) ήταν μειονότητα μέσα στο έδαφος της ίδιας της Τουρκίας. Επεκτατική πολιτική για την Αλεξανδρέττα ή την Κύπρο στέκει, γιατί μιλούμε για επέμβαση εκτός των συνόρων.
