Well, that’s the cost of our so-called “independence” and “freedom”. If CH wants to stay outside the EU, then this is the price to pay, even if it means that several industries will go to die. Or, as they say, the TGV has no footboard, and we can’t have “the föifer and the weggli” forever. I am sure, everyone knew that for decades.
Why doesn’t Switzerland just join the EEA(EWR) and none of these things would be an issue anymore.
There is no reason to subsidize steel production in Switzerland as we are currently doing. They are setting tax payer money on fire. The new tariffs are just the tip of the iceberg
