As a Belgian who likes to hate on my birth country, it’s rare to see us do something right

    2. The companies lobbied and probably paid some politicians off to get us one of EUs worst possible deals. A good example of corruption in Luxembourg. Don’t be naive and believe the politicians involved didn’t get anything in return.

I called once LOL to ask why my internet was slow, and they said it was an issue on their side, and that he will fix it. I was already living there for 3 years and only realised that I get half of what the contract was supposed to give me. What the operator actually did was to bump my contract as if i just restarted it, so 6 months later when i was moving out, i learn about it. I just did not pay 🤷🏻

It is once again the lobbying and monopoly of Luxembourg. This way of working is spread across the country and it backfires . I am sure a decent financial crisis will end up this non sense way of working. Adding my personal experience with car insurances where i could only cancel at certain time of the year. I sold my car and i still had to pay them ( Foyer).

Most providers can provide an offer without lock-in where they pass to clients the full installation and activation costs. Without lock-in, I fear that they will either not waive those costs anymore, or increase the monthly subscription.

It’s strange that no company tries to be more attractive by offering a shorter contract.

Instead, they are advertising fake low prices, which are only applicable during the first few months of the contract.

As others said, this will probably backfire via higher monthly fees costing more in the long run.

    8. I’d be happy with options like in other countries. Don’t want a lock-in then pay more, want to pay less and get installation etc free, commit to a certain period.

Nice initative, but let the record show that Post, Orange and Tango will offer LTE/5G home routers without any long term commitment, which is the convenient solution if you don’t know for how long you’re going to be in the country and don’t want to go through the whole *technician comes to your place to do the install and activate the service.*
