      Yes the recent most commonly used has roots to Portugal “portokhal” but also if you said “Narinji” which has same roots as “Orange” from Greeks or Latin idk, people will understand.

      Nowadays Narinji is used more for the color and not for the fruit.

      I’d put Georgia in the dashed yellow lines though

      it’s portikhali, but yes it’s probably comes from “Portugal”. I’ve never given though that it may derived from that

      I made this realization when I was watching Morocco v Portugal with some Egyptian friends and I thought the Arabic commentators were just really interested in oranges.
