It is factually incorrect, he was killed by security who never should have detained him that way. In all my years working security, I’ve never witnessed such a botched detaining. The loss prevention units in the suits had the authority to step in, there were more than enough there to detain him properly.

Guards perfomed CPR on him when they arrived according to the initial news reports.

Not surprising really, Channel 4 is basically the left-wing GBnews. Lying like this is their modus operandi.
Edit: I’m hyperbolising a bit to be fair, but this is far from the first time channel 4 have lied for the purposes of being sensationalist and manufacturing outrage, because either that’s what happened here or they couldn’t bother their holes to do the most basic fact checking first. Either way they fucked up badly.

About right for Channel 4 fact checking to be honest

It seems people mixed up “guards” and “gards” accidentally or to spread misinformation. I’m concerned Channel 4 didn’t do their due diligence here.

“No suspects identified”. That seems odd. Surely more urgency is called for. Shouldn’t have been too hard to identify them.

I mean the lack of gardai on the beat in our capital city probably did contribute to his death. how long did it take for gardai to arrive on the scene? a permanent garda presence needs to be stationed on Henry street. currently in Limerick and there’s visible policing everywhere
