Quali sono le opzioni realistiche per spostarsi da Machtum a un posto nel centro (magari alla Gare de Luxembourg)?

Sto considerando solo i trasporti pubblici, l’auto o un mix di essi.

    Secondo mobiliteit.lupotrei prendere

    – 311 (LuxExpo) + 502 = 0:51

    – 326 (Roodt-sur-Syre, Barriera) + RB = 0:58

    – 341 (Ahn) + 421 = 1:04

    – 342 (Lenningen) + 421 = 1:04

    Molte grazie!

Any time you have to take a transport change there risks delays. For example I sometimes walk 25 mins to a train station directly than get the 10 min bus that comes every 30 as it’s rarely on time and every time I’ve tried, I’ve missed the train. I have friends who had an internal change in the city and lived in the city and sometimes it was a long day so your idea of going to a station isn’t a bad one. Some stations get super full in the morning and there’s only space early.

There are cycle routes that can work and are worth checking out. https://www.luxvelo.lu/piste-cyclable-luxembourg.php

    2. the real expectation is that life quality rapidly decrease with the increase of transportations taken.

its never just commute time, you’ll always have to arrive early. I can just say you will have to add 10 or 15 minutes time to each one of these, but it’s usually more than that, because if any bus is late, you’ll miss the next one. The only reliable transport is the tram, so as long as you’re in the city it’s all good.

so in short, best move is bus>luxexpo, if you catch 502 bus then it’s good, if not the tram will always save you (if you can live in grevenmacher, youll get much more flexibility)

i would say 1h30 is realistic if you take changes into account, or 20-25 mins by car depending on where you need to be. if your work doesn’t provide parking, it could be a pain though.

consider driving closer stations and the taking a short train: sandweiler-contern or cents. they have free parking and are usually pretty convenient

In my experience, 421 is often delayed during rush hours and due to the road works on route du vin, so I wouldn’t count on it for my daily commute. I know a guy who works in Gare and who always drives to a nearby train station to take the train. This seems like the most reliable and stress free option.

If you work on Kirchberg, the commuter buses from Germany, like the 305, which stops in Wormeldange, are the fastest/most reliable.

I grew up in the neighbouring city, Grevenmacher. I am not sure how it is now but at that time there was only 2 130 busses to city and it was not ideal if you are young and want to hang out with your friends in the City.
