When rent is 75% of your paycheck for a one bedroom 40m² apartment, how can people possibly fathom bearing the cost of children?

And it will fall to a new low in 2026, and 2027, and 2028 🙂

To late with conciving first child
      Low testosteron levels with men

To anyone saying that rent is up, war is on our border political situation is not ok. Those are all valid points but not main ones. The top ones are consistant among all nations with low birthrate.

To anyone complaining that today is bad during ww2 we still had more babies born and THAT was bad.

To anyone saying “but back then women could not decide if they want it or not” its not wrong but at the same time its more or less 1st point of this comment. Women are saying no, more often today than they did back then but not due to the fact that thry can but the priorities shifted.

Parenthood is simply not in fashion.

I knew i will be downvoted. And thats how it is with all conversations about fertility.

If its not due to the fact that people have it bad its not true. Lets 100% ignore the fact that average Pole never had so much in their entire history.

Can anyone from downviting people give one example of low fertility and i will have a fun game of attaching it to one of said examples by me. Lets do some thinking guys that might be fun

The entire planet is currently a horrible place to live in, so why would I add even more potential costs and issues? Though honestly I dont know if less people would actually be a bad thing

Affordable housing and better healthcare and childcare will go a long way in addressing this problem.

you actually see it when walking around the streets. entire villages are dying off rapidly because people look around and say “fuck that” in regards to refilling the population of this toilet. out of all the mid 20s/30s people i know, 1 has a kid. also, the amount of adults forced to either live at home or rent a bedroom in an apartment is insane.

This is happening all over the world, from Argentina to Iran to Tunisia, are all seeing crashing tfrs now in their 1.20s

    11. I dont want to be smart ass but what are the mentioned efforts from goverment to boost the number of births? If food cheaper? Nope, its more expensive. Is the fuel cheaper? Nope, going up. Is energy cheaper? Nope, going up. Is housing cheaper? Nope, going up. Is healthcare and medicine cheaper? Nope, going up.

On the bright side, deficit of workforce leads to wage growth and low unemployment.

Whenever you read headlines like POLAND IS EUROPE’S ECONOMIC MIRACLE, take a look at the fertility statistics. It all looks wonderful in numbers, but if things are going so well, then why are they so bad? Cultural factors are only part of the problem. People are overworked, tired, ultra-stressed, basic things that are needed to live and have kids – like real estate – have become luxurious. Also, the society is drastically, economically divided. Some people earn shitload of money and the rest is too wealthy to die and too poor to live normal, happy and healthy life.
