Tell your landlord to go fuck himself.

4500 for that is just a scam. You could fix that little spot with a little bit of plaster and paint. Probably a 5 minute job.

If it’s in a bathroom, 4500 is entirely plausible. You can’t patch everywhere in a bathroom. Also, you’re not going to get any professional to come around, and it to be less than 1000. Personally I think 4500 sounds reasonable.

To fix this you will have to hire a person to spackle over the hole and then repaint. Worst case the room would need to be repainted. You could argue that the towel hanger was insufficiently/incorrectly attached (unless you put it up yourself).

That’s crazy price, 4500kr about 420 euros for a little patch? Do you have before and after photos proving the damage? If not just tell them you won’t pay anything. Otherwise, ask around for a quote get the cheapest one and tell the landlord the price should be the cheapest quote.

Fixing this back to original state costs more than 4500.-, as you need to paint the complete wall to recreate the structure.

However, tell your landlord it is not your fault. He did not use binder/sealant (grunning) under the plaster. That is why it detached.

What i an trying to say is don’t haggle over price. Argue rather you are not responsible.

That’s fucking insane. I could fix that in five minutes

It’s typical though. My landlord complained to me about prices for fixing shit, so now I do a lot of stuff for him for half the price.

Where do you live? I’ll come fix it.

Pretty sure you are allowed to fix it yourself to avoid the cost. I did that in a previous apartment I rented.

If not, it’s sadly a lesson for future rentals.

Thats crazyyyy, my bf had a few paintings hanging on the wall on these sticky hooks, they chipped off a nice chunk of the wall and paint.

He had asked the landlord for the exact paint colour, got some filler stuff and spot painted it, prob cost him 500 nok, looks brand new.

Learn to get handy, fixing stuff around the house, car stuff, gonna save you a lot!

You could have fixed this a lot cheaper yourself before you moved out. Now that you have moved out your only choice is paying for someone else to fix it, and I don’t think 4.500kr seems very unreasonable. The landlord will likely need to pay someone to come in several times due to required drying time between operations, and for each trip they will need to be paid not only for the time they are there but also for the travel time.
