This is what we also did back in the day when we were kids and running around in the summer.
And blueberries were eaten with milk and sugar.

I was gathering raspberries and almost gave up on collecting because there were loads of strawberries growing there too. They are great to taste a bit or as garnish but too much is a surprisingly small amount.

      Awww so cute <3

People usually love cat videos and aww at them but I aww at wild plants lol.

They taste as sweet as they look btw 🍓

    4. Get a few leaves of mint, muddle the strawberries with the mint, add some gin and a splash of soda and voila, you have a delicious summer drink

    5. Collecting these on a straw is an essential 80s-90s summer memory

    6. Is that the reason they are called strawberries in english?

Finnish mansikka would best translate to earthling. The root word is maa (earth/ground).

      In estonian its maasikas.

Similar to German erdbeere (ground berry).

For whatever reason many berries in Finnish have -kka ending (mustikka, puolukka, mansikka) but it does not literally mean berry. A thing/produce of maybe?

Yees! We’d collect both strawberries and blueberries on hay, bring them home, plop the berries into a bowl of milk and eat it like cereal <3

It is a thing! I did it in the 90s 🙂

      Now add some blueberries ☺️
