The war is kinda Ukraine’s main concern these days, yeah?
Plus, I recently donated €150. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Though I’d encourage more people to donate if they can possibly afford it, the popular support for Ukraine is significantly more important; without that, Ukraine gets nothing from other countries or governments.
That’s regular support of billions of Euros, that’s only made possible through popular support for Ukraine by the people of non-Ukrainian countries. Online spaces discussing the war and building that support makes a difference.
I get why you’d like a safe place to have normal everyday conversations without having to think about the war in your country more than necessary, though. It’s a difficult situation, and I can’t imagine living through it.

I remember for the first 2-3 years they had daily posts on Ukrainian culture and history. Plus art post Fridays. I wonder why they stopped doing that.

Not really sure what made you think we dont care about Ukraine…

As a ukrainian I wanted to mention that there is nothing wrong with being active on the internet per se, and any form of support is very welcome (even simple acknowledgement), just that you can direct some of that energy into actually helping by donating money to AFU and verified volunteer funds, and have your part in the victory. It is still very nice to know that there are people who support the cause, even just verbally

Вони не розуміють, що таке Україна. Більшість не знали про нашу країну до війни. Тому більшість не подумає про наші гарні краєвиди, чи міста та життя день на день, коли згадаюсь чи почують про Україну. Україна для них – це війна.

As someone that for some fucking weird reason I don’t even know was interested in ukraine before the huge invasion – please do post.

Been following and supporting Ukrainians since day 1 of the war and I’m a Westerner. There is a lot of love and support here. I do see a lot of war and not much else posted here, but to be lumped into a general pool of “all westerners here done care” kinda hurts ☹️

Or maybe (just maybe) they don’t care about random pic of breakfast. But what do I know. Maybe that breakfast is very important for our victory

That’s just Reddit mods, I don’t think the post should have got taken down but it does kind of make sense that the big focus with Ukraine rn is the existential war there’s been raging for years
Also, most people here do care about Ukraine in the sense that we care about it remaining independent and winning this war and people not dying, maybe not in the sense what every rando had for breakfast
Also fuck Putin

As a westerner, I *do* care. I donate money each month and I volunteer locally to help Ukraine. I know I could be doing more, and I’m sorry that I don’t. But I *do* care, and I wish you knew it.
