So they only blocked Ukraine, technically speaking, and not Moldova, according to the article. I believe that separating Ukraine and Moldova might be a good idea [edit: as EU accession paths], those are two completely different countries we’re talking about. Moldova is the poorest European country, but also very small, so every EU help will go a long way and make an immediate difference. Transnistria remains a problem but it’s nothing like occupied Donbas or Crimea in the long run. Romania has a long history of helping Moldova and they have the means to help them with the transition very fast.
With Maia Sandu in charge I believe that we can help Moldova very efficiently, it should be done as fast as possible imho. It’ll cost us nothing, introduce no serious hurdles, while Moldovan population will experience immense improvement.
(Edit: and to be clear, this isn’t an anti-Ukrainian message in any way, seriously. Moldova is a small country with 2,5 million citizens, Ukraine is a massive European country with 40 million citizens and at a devastating war currently. Pro-European reforms in Moldova are also good for Ukraine).

Ukraine’s and Moldova’s accessions should really be decoupled.

Makes no sense. Peter Magyar has already acknowledged that Russia is the aggressor in this war so helping Ukraine would be a good next step. Breaking from bad Orban politics would also be a good idea. There is nothing to gain from this nonsense.

The problem with both is they don’t have settled borders. If Moldavia joins does that mean Transdnystria becomes and EU member too? If Ucraine joins does Crymea become an EU member? On the other hand if the answer is no, that’s kind of official recognition that Crymea is not part of Ucraine which we also don’t want to make, so it’s a 🐤️&🥚️ problem.

Let’s be really here. Ukraine shouldn’t be joining the EU until they have gone through massive reforms. Not to mention that they are actively at war…

Looks like Russian brainwashing and the RU bot 🤖 invasion overtook Peter Magyar s government.. very disappointing….

Ukraine 🇺🇦 should be an EU member already. If EU could grow some balls and take charge it would welcome Ukraine to become a true force on the global stage. Russia is a failed shithole. No one cares what the wanna be soviets want.

Russia is a failed state. Russians never recovered from the Mongol invasion and the apparatchik mentality. A total failure of a country.

If Ukraine will be an EU member during the war, will the EU still be sexist and discriminate men only because of their gender?

Whats the point in blocking negotiations? The accesion in the end will have to approved anyway, wont it? Negotiations don’t hurt. Or am I missing something?
Why not resolve some of the issues already and speed up things while still waiting for some other things to be resolved (like, the war ending)?
