      Let’s see how long until they donate or sell them at steep loss to a foreign subsidiary who will then destroy them and the parent company will look great on the report. Or some other scheme like that.

      oh look it’s a barge with an incinerator owned by a company in the Cayman Islands that just happens to be parked 13nm off the coast of france. And would you look at that they are buying all surplus clothing for 1 euro per kg

      This is exactly the type of regulation that exists only so politicians can pat themselves in the back and think they are doing a great job instead of addressing issues that are fucking everyone in the ass.

      Instead of destroying the unsold clothes they will be donated, or sold as “surplus” to a subsidiary of another company for cents per kilo which will be later incinerated or landfilled in India or another Asian country.
