what do you want her to do? She’s the minister of energy she makes sure Malta is provided with power as much as possible, doesnt mean it has to be 100% of the time. Summer is notorious for power cuts because the energy usage goes up, same goes with any other country, not just Malta. it’s just amplified in Malta because we dont produce our own electricity. I dont get the hate you are throwing to these people, yes they should do a better job, but the person is just celebrating a festa, outside mind you, not in an airconditioned unit, not in a place with electrity that would make you feel like you are being mocked. just outside, celebrating a festa. what’s wrong with that? are they not allowed to celebrate it just because your place has a power cut, who god knows what caused. yours might be caused by those stupid construction outside who has 0 idea that there are underground cables. stop hating on people who are just celebrating life, especially on a weekend

TBH I’m not expecting her to roll up her sleeves and do manual work. She is also a an educated lawyer and former journalist. It wouldn’t exactly think she is an electrician. Probably nothing more than a paper pusher

Complaining for the sake of complaining. I don’t like PL either but are we really trashing this woman for celebrating a festa which has nothing to do with the power cuts? It’s not like she’s hoarding all the electricity for herself.

Incredible the number of people excusing politicians behaviour.
Imagine any private company undergoing a crisis, and its CEO is nonchalantly posting selfies at the local festa.

Power back -> Power cut
Fucking annoying af
I wouldnt be surprised if the entire summer has power cuts (I mean every day)
I would genuinely be surprised if one day goes by without power cuts

The minister and ministry in general is a joke. Our government wants Malta to become a Mediterranean Dubai, yet we cant even manage our energy infrastructure, in large part due to the extremely rapid expansion and construction.
At the same, given that there is virtually a power cut everywhere, what do you expect her to do? Pretend shes working 24/7 to look good? Shes not an electrician or engineer…
Being outraged because shes at a village feast during an outage somewhere is pointless… She could have been working, laying down cables herself for all I care, the fact is that our power grid is fucked up, and after all these years, it seems as if this problem isnt going away
