Can somebody explain how this is a blow to John Healey?

    2. One_Network518 on

Falls to 2.6 implies it’s not going up. Its still raising.

It’s good that inflation is slowing if you believe this figure.. However, the damage has already been done in the last 5 years with the sky high inflation we have already had.

      This is great news.

It’s surprising how little effect the enormous spike in oil prices thanks to the Iran war have had on inflation.

Until inflation reaches -25% this isn’t news. It’s still prices going up…

Great. Can you make my mortgage cheaper now please.

    7. Looks like we still arent seeing the full impact of the Iran war yet, fuel is up massively YTD and nothing escapes fuel price increases.

Banks must start giving interest on chequing accounts

Cool now BoE, sort the interest rates out, it’s doing fuck all the curb inflation, it’s a blunt instrument that doesn’t help the underlying cause of the recent issues.

Question for all those saying this is proof the previous governments policies worked, can you not see they inherited inflation at 2% and it spiked to ~3% due to the tax and spend policies they had?

    13. Prestigious_Spot9635 on

      That’s really good actually.

Things were fine under starmer and Reeves

Burnham is just another stooge. He’ll win confidence at the beginning but the overall objective will remain the same.

    17. Huge-Brick-3495 on

Presumably we are stupid enough to blame this on Burnham?

    18. Cool, now explain to my landlord why my rent still went up 10% this year.
